I decided that I much rather do that, even when I am not ready to show my face and know nothing about creating reels, than work for the next 40 years, 40 hours per week, and then live on 40% of my annual salary while retired (that's the 40/40/40 rule). Here are the steps recommended by me (aka by the many courses that I took to learn all those valuable lessons, that I can now share with you, my lovely readers) when starting a digital marketing business:

i. Start with your Passion- it’s the best GPS for navigating the digital marketing world! Select a niche that you are passionate about. Your enthusiasm will keep you motivated and help you connect authentically with your audience. If it's gardening and you can talk for hours about composting, building a greenhouse to grow cucumbers that are better than Wegman's highly recommended type, talk about that! You can thank me later.
2. Build a Solid Foundation:
Once you have selected your niche, now, it's time to get your camera out and start recording, just like Spielberg would. Here is how it's done.
ii. Develop a Personal Brand: Your brand is your unique voice and identity in the crowded digital space. If you want to make it BIG in this business, stand out like a zebra with a neon afro! That's where your personal brand swoops in, like a majestic marketing phoenix rising from the ashes of generic content. It's your unique voice, your quirky personality – the thing that makes people go, "Hey, that's [Your Name], the [Your Expertise] guru with the [Describe Your Distinguishing Feature]!" So, don't be afraid to let your freak flag fly, showcase your passions, and inject some humor. After all, a relatable and memorable brand is the ultimate banana peel for grabbing attention in the digital world!
I went through brand "reformation" on my digital marketing journey. I started with neutral colors and aesthetics, but as I was growing out of my cocoon and transforming, what I call, from "shy to social butterfly," neutral colors no longer "fitted" in my brand. I was looking for a pop of color, so I chose the color purple, which is also my favorite color.
If you didn't know, there is a psychology behind colors. Each color represents a certain mood or meaning. Purple is a color that has been associated with royalty, luxury, and creativity for centuries. One of the most significant meanings of this color is its connection to creativity. Moreover, it has been linked to feelings of independence and individuality, making it a powerful tool for self-expression. Now you understand why I went from timid browns to royal purple. I think a crown would suit me quite well!
The Hustle: Is It Worth It?
Absolutely! Why do you think so many moms have started it? It has empowered them to help their husbands to bring extra income home. But remember, the journey to financial freedom is paved with hard work, perseverance, and smart strategies.
i. Flexibility: Work from anywhere, anytime. You can move across the ocean, become a nomad on some secluded island if you really decide to hide from your new in-laws or live in a bungalow, and as long as there is quality Wi-Fi, you can do this business
ii. Potential Earnings: I almost spit out my coffee, when I heard that one of the moms was making $100,000 monthly. But you can make even more! If you add digital guides, courses, coaching, and affiliate offers, like software or high-ticket products or services, you can make millions, and I am not joking. There’s no cap on how much you can earn.
iii. Personal Satisfaction: Building something of your own brings immense satisfaction. Until recently, I believed that having a "safe" job and a steady paycheck was the best way to save for retirement. However, once I started digging deeper into the world of digital and affiliate marketing, I wanted to quit my job on the spot, but decided that the more logical way was to wait till I started earning enough money per month, to cover the bills and have a bit extra in the "emergency" fund.
